Why AI Writing Sounds Like AI
Claude sounds like a robot because nobody told it not to. Left on default, it reaches for em dashes, stock phrases, and relentless cheerfulness, because that is what most of the internet trained it on. The fix is not fancy prompting. It is telling the tool who to be and what to avoid.
Voice Is Two Jobs, Not One
First you strip out the tells that scream "written by AI." Then you hand it a target: your personality, your jokes, the way you actually talk. Getting rid of the robot is step one. Sounding like you is step two, and it needs a real example to aim at.
Trust Your Own Ear
No block of rules catches everything. The last check is always the same: read it out loud. If you would be embarrassed to say a sentence to a friend over coffee, it is still AI. Your ear is the better editor. The guides below hand you the tools, and your ear does the rest.
