Questions and Answers
A web hook, also known as a web callback, is a method that enables an application or web service to send real-time information to another application. It is triggered by the occurrence of an event and sends over the data instantly.
To set up a custom Make.com webhook, one needs to:
- Click on the "Add" button to add a new web hook.
- Enter a name for the web hook.
- A unique web hook URL will be generated. Make.com will then start listening for data.
- The web hook URL needs to be pasted into a third-party app or service.
- Send sample data to the third-party app or service to trigger the web hook.
- Make.com will determine the data structure of the web hook based on the sample data received.
If a scenario with a web hook is inactive in Make.com, each bundle of data received by the web hook gets stored as a record in a queue. Once the scenario is executed, it will process all these data bundles sequentially. The records in a web hook queue are stored for 30 days, and the number of records that can be stored varies based on the Make subscription.
